I was going to say there is a big rift between quilt shops as some carry Civil War fabrics and others do not. The aesthetics of Civil War fabrics is a more traditional, block-oriented quilting. Batiks and wilder fabrics seem to address a different…
When I went to the Montana Women Book Club I told the group about the Sarah Vogan books you have on hand. I think Patricia Spencer from Lewis and Clark Library will probably call you to see if you will let the group have some for a month's…
BTW, the only bookstore allowed to send books into Montana prisons, whether in Deer Lodge, Shelby or Billings, is Barnes and Noble.

Maybe this is just a rumor but long ago I heard that the front windows had something to do with Frank Lloyd Wright -- the glass blocks under the awnings were supposed to make the displays brighter?
Oh, Sid. I DID go to Aunt Bonnie's AND the Montana Book Company and they were both out of copies. Also, my son works at the Hastings in Billings so my mother gave us gift cards to Hastings that you can't just cash in to shop at a real…
What about *Full Court Quest: The Girls from Fort Shaw Indian School Basketball Champions*? That's one book I read this year which was very compelling and tells a Montana story that has not been heard before. There's plenty of controversy…
Like Carol Buchanan, I believe the influence of the Civil War in Montana has not been studied enough. Of course, I live in Helena, where we have the furthest north monument to the Confederacy -- a fountain placed just across from the Civic Center by…

Fascinating to see all the good work being done by the Humanities Committee, too. That lovely girl is my four-year-old granddaughter, Alice, who is the child of my son, Zen, who was born when I was at Rocky. BTW, I have been the web developer for the Secretary of State for almost five years and one of the people I work with a lot is Rusty Harper from Rocky.
It's wonderful to see you here, Kathleen! Who's that adorable child in the photo? You should feel free to post blogs, start a discussion, jump into a discussion, or just navigate through the site. Ken

DAY FOUR: Make a list of issues you're passionate about.
Like any good challenge, it's time to make a list! Sharpen your pencil, grab your favorite notebook (or a napkin), and start writing. But how do you choose among the many issues you…
