Help the Mai Wah Museum of Butte - Friday October 15 and Saturday October 16 in Virginia City

For many years, the Mai Wah has been working to repatriate their artifacts to Butte from Virginia City & Nevada City, where they have been living for the past thirty or so years. Included in the stuff that will come home is the entire stock of Wah Chong Tai mercantile. The Mai Wah board will be packing all these items up on Friday and Saturday, October 15 and 16.

The Virginia City Historic Preservation folks will be providing the Mai Wah Board with over night accommodations at one of their historic buildings. I believe (not sure the details yet) Mai Wah will be providing dinner and lunches.

The Mai Wah is looking for volunteers to help properly register and pack all these items. Training on proper procedures will be provided on the first day. Although it will be long days and a lot of work, it should also be interesting.

THEY NEED LOTS OF HELPERS.

Please let them know if you would be willing to help on one or both days. If you ARE able and willing to help, please let them know if you want to stay over night in Virginia City, so they can assure sleeping arrangements for you.

I am seeking manuscripts for the October issue about the state of humanities in public secondary schools. This forum is a wonderful exchange of ideas, and I'm so heartened to see the humanities being supported.I would love to hear about successful programs and strategies for keeping such classes strong in the face of challenges from…See More

"Good response, Kathleen!  You raise many questions for others to consider.  Just two questions on my part: What do you make of Martha Ettinger, the lead detective (sheriff) in Royal Wulff Murders?  She's a Montana woman who loves…"
